I've got to Hemerdon quite early on this bright and sunny late winter's day. The overnight 00.12 Carlisle to Plymouth sleeper is approaching the summit with large-logo Class 47/8 no. 47812 at the helm. Sleeper train to Plymouth? Those were the days! 47812 survives, now in the service of Rail Operations Group.
