The wooden platform was a rarity and I think it has long-since been replaced. There's a certain neglected feel about the station despite all the Network South East frippery. 4CEP no. 1562 is waiting for its passengers to board (including me) for the trip back to Brockenhurst. 4CEPs would be the last units to grace the rails here long after the rest of the slam door stock had been withdrawn. But by 2010 they would be one coach less and known as 3CEP!
