A wide view looking north, with the 10.05 Inverness to Aberdeen service standing at the station. Class 47/4 no. 47541 "The Queen Mother" is in charge. The station canopies would eventually be removed. Over to the left is the line to Dufftown, at the time, still open for freight traffic although I would not be certain that there was much regular traffic. I think I am right in saying that the connection to the mainline has been removed now, but the branch still survives as a heritage operation.
