Class 08 no. D4095 was built at Horwich Works, Manchester, in August 1961. It later became no. 08881 under the TOPS system. One of its last duties on the national network was as a works shunter at Springburn Works, Glasgow, before preservation, first at the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway, and then here, at Midsomer Norton.
