Basingstoke Railfair: The rarest of exhibits would have been this Class 27, no. 27059. At the time it was an outrageous sight for the Southern Region. I have a feeling that it was fresh out of Derby works, although the Class 27s were retired around 1987. This is the former D5410 and is one of 8 of the type that has since been preserved.
