11th Sept 1989

121 Class no. 129 runs out of the station, having just dropped off a rake of empty coaching stock in the station.
These single-cab locomotives, with their design clearly of American origin, were originally 960hp units fitted with the standard EMD 8-567CR power plant, but were later re-engined with EMD 8-645 engines, rating them at 1100hp. They were the first American export locomotives to Europe. All were taken out of traffic by 2008 and just two have been preserved, but not this one.
