(1) Norwich-based Met Cam Class 101 DMU set no. 70, made up of cars 53202 and 54388, is passing the Dereham branch junction with the 12.13 Cambridge to Norwich service. To the right, adjacent to the junction, is the substantial brick base of a water tower, along with a small office building, all remnants of the steam era. In fact, when you study this image further you can find all manner of items that can be linked to an earlier era. Those telegraph poles for one thing. I've also noticed the signal mans car tucked away in the shade over to the left, complete with trailer. And is that a pile of coal behind it? Pure nostalgia!
