2nd July 1984

The platforms are busy on this warm summer's day back in 1984. For some, train travel was still the way to travel for your holidays. I've been down to Falmouth and back and am waiting for my train home. Here it is, pulling into the platform, the 16.15 Penzance to London Paddington, with large-logo 50022 "Anson" on the front. I'll take the train to St. David's and get a connecting train (another 50) for the last leg home. Happy days! Everything's wrong here really, from a photographic point of view: shooting against the sun on the wrong side of the train, but the picture still oozes atmosphere for me, and I can remember this day very well.
