17th March 1990

My reason for being in Nottingham on this day was due to my travel on a Railway Development Society railtour, "The Notts & Lincs Rambler", 1Z09 09.30 Birmingham New Street to Cleethorpes and return. The train had to reverse in Nottingham after arriving from Birmingham to take the route onward through Toton, Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough, Brigg, Barnetby and on to Cleethorpes. I'm not sure how I got to Birmingham that day, but I remember it being a very enjoyable trip, with just 6 coaches and 47432 in charge all day. Here it is running light engine on the through lines, whilst I take a leg stretch and a few photos.
