The Canadian National manifest train is seen passing the local train at 12.20 as it heads south towards Champaign and beyond.The locomotives on the head are another pair of SD70M-2s, nos. 8004 and 8850. Manifest trains are the equivalent in UK terms of a wagonload train, carrying all kinds of merchandise for a multitude of destinations, and will be reorganised at one of the many hump marshalling yards still in everyday use in the US.
