Limerick Junction, Co. Tipperary
Despite the name, Limerick is 22 miles away and the junction station is in fact only 2 miles from Tipperary. Not such a long way then! It has a complex layout, where trains have to reverse in to and out of the main platform, which was divided by a scissors crossover, but I believe that things have changed here recently and the scissors has been removed. It is also the only location in Ireland where two lines cross each other on the level at almost 90 degrees, the Dublin-Cork line and the Limerick-Waterford line.
