Gunnislake branch, Cornwall
The former Southern main line from Plymouth to Exeter via Okehampton passed through Bere Alston, where the Callington branch diverged away. The line between Callington and Gunnislake closed in 1966, and the mainline from Plymouth to Exeter closed in 1968. So what was left was a branch, mostly single line, that followed the River Tamar, ducking under the Royal Albert bridge, terminating at the former through station at Bere Alston, where the train then reverses to Gunnislake.
