Denver Union Station, CO
A station has existed at this location since 1881. The original station burnt down, but the current building was completed by 1914. It's a wonderfully grand building, typical of American stations, and in its day it hosted dozens of long-distance passenger trains on a through route. The station and immediate area was fully refurbished in 2012 to create the transport hub that exist today, and the former rail-yards all around now host a multitude of hotels and restaurants. Today it is a terminus and just sees one westbound and one eastbound Amtrak train nos. 5 and 6 the "California Zephyr". Plus, of course, regular RTD (Regional Transport District" commuter trains. Despite the modernisation of the area the classic station building still forms the focus of the development.
