Dainton Bank, Devon

This famous location is not as easy to photograph these days as it used to be, thanks to line side growth. After diverging away from the route to Paignton, at Aller, the line climbs up past Stoneycombe to Dainton, with a varying gradient between 1 in 36 to 1 in 57. Down the other side the line drops gently to Totnes, but of course it's uphill the other way, but not as steep as for west bound trains.
