Bere Regis, Dorset: Sylvasprings Watercress narrow gauge railway
At the time this was a real find, thanks to some research by my friend Spencer. I had no idea that this narrow gauge network existed and was amazed that it was still in use. The first two visits were made on weekday evening trips after work in the summer, and at those times nothing was open, or working, so we just nosed around to take a look (everything seemed to be open and accessible). A later visit was made with permission and at a time when the beds were being prepared for a new crop, and the railway was in use. I believe that the railway is still in use today!
