Irish Rail 201 Class no. 220 "An Abhainn Dhubh/River Blackwater" is held in the loop at 16.29 waiting for a northbound train to pass.

The loco is operating one of the Marino Point (Dublin) to Shelton Abbey (near Arklow) anhydrous ammonia bogie tank trains for Irish Fertiliser Industries (IFI). These trains required the placement of water-filled tanks on barrier flats at either end of the train, "sacrificial" wagons in the event of a crash or collision. This traffic ended in 2002 with the closure of the plant at Shelton Abbey.
