"Large Logo" Class 47 "Generator", no. 47407 "Aycliffe" would have been a rarity this far west, so I was pleased to catch it on the 1E91 09.33 Penzance to Newcastle, pulling away past Riverside Yard.
In the meantime 47281 is waiting for the passenger train to clear the section in order to leave on the 6C39 09.30 St. Blazey to Severn Tunnel Junction. Two Duffs in quick succession! Looks like there might be some engineering work planned.
47407 met its end at Frodingham in December 1995. 47281 managed to see in the new millennium, being scrapped at Wigan in 2000.
