Set against some lovely rolling Somerset countryside, 37097 takes the 16.30 Weymouth to Cardiff Central towards the junction with the GWR mailine at Castle Cary. It’s a super view, from a field off the Sparkford Hill Lane, and I am annoyed that I have not visited here more often. The Class 37 enjoys retirement a long way from here, on the Caledonian Railway at Brechin, Scotland.
