14th May 2008 - Lostwithiel to Fowey (Carne Point) Branch, Cornwall
Sadly I have not visit this line much, and therefore have few photographs of trains running up this very attrcative route. The conventional view is from up high, looking down on trains crossing the causeway at the village of Golant. However, today I, and my collegaue Arran, have taken up a different position to shoot 66197 leaving Carne Point with a string of empty CDA wagons forming the 6P07 (WFO) 12.15 Fowey Docks to Treviscoe service, seen here just 5 minutes after booked departure time.

It was debatable whether this shot was advisable, as we had tip-toed around the edge of the shore, bordering the railway embankment, having passed through a tunnel under the railway (no tresspassing I might add!). Having positioned ourselves in readiness for the shot it became clear that the tide was coming in, and by the time the train came I was standing in a couple of inches of water. Luckily I was wearing waterproof walking boots!
